Cultural History

The following review article brings a presentation of the published in 2018 encyclopaedia of Czech literary samizdat. The analysed publication consists of two parts – a comprehensive introduction discussing the question of independent literary culture in Czechoslovakia under communist regime pressure and an entry section with more than 300 entries about Czech independent self-publishing activities. The presentation of the following book provokes the need to re-examine the phenomenon of Czech samizdat, reflecting on its chronological framework, definition, meaning and role in creating and keeping alive an independent culture in the era of domination of the communist regime (1948–1989).

Discussion about the borders restricting (unavoidable today) aestheticization of memory about the Holocaust experience is still valid – in the article are recalled some different strategies of remembering the Holocaust in the art using photography. Two of the artistic projects (Powidoki by Zbigniew Libera and Pocztówki z Auschwitz by Paweł Szypulski) are using authentic photographs to initialize the discussion about trivialization of image, removing it from its original context and, at the same time, “blunting” the sensitivity of the recipient. The other two works (Auschwitz, co ja tu robię by Mikołaj Grynberg and Miejsca nieparzyste by Elżbieta Janicka) are suspended between conversation and silence (two classic poles of memory about the Holocaust). This study aims to obtain preliminary information used as a design basis for developing historical comics based on primary sources of Yupa inscriptions. This study uses a design research approach with the learning development method adopted from Plomp. The research results conclude that the selected Yupa encryption-based digital media development is digital comics based on analysing the media needs of three components. Material development consists of a storyline covering political life, socio-economic life, socio-cultural life, and religious life. Two characters classification appear in the comics: the main characters, such as Mulawarman, Kudunga, Aswawarman, and Brahmana, and the supporting character, like the folk characters. The education curriculum applied by Muassasah Assaqofatul Islamiyah has so far not supported the development and understanding of Pattani's Malay children towards Islamic law. The main issues discussed were the Curriculum Policy Analysis in Tsanawi Muassasah Assaqofatul Islamiyah Pondok Pombing in Pattani (South Thailand). The purpose of this study was to find out in depth about the implementation and development of educational curriculums carried out in the Assaqofatul Islamiyah Muassasah. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques using interviews were submitted to 18 respondents. La rivista "Itineraria" apre uno spazio per ospitare ricerche che affrontino temi e testi connessi al viaggio e alla conoscenza del mondo (ma anche al viaggio immaginario, al viaggio simbolico e metaforico, alle visiones, alla geografia fantastica e alla geografia dell'aldilà) in un'ampia prospettiva filologica che, pur privilegiando la tradizione letteraria latina medievale e umanistica, accolga anche da un lato la cultura classica e dall'altro quella in volgare. La tematica di "Itineraria" abbraccia un arco cronologico e culturale molto ampio: ad esempio dalle cosmologie greche ai peripli, dalla letteratura geografica greco-romana alla cosmografia, dalle visiones agli itineraria, dai mirabilia ai romanzi odeporici, dalle cronache delle Crociate ai pellegrinaggi, dalle relazioni di ambasciatori, missionari e mercanti alla cartografia, dai portolani al viaggio immaginario e alla geografia fantastica.

Artykuł dotyczy propozycji spojrzenia na literackie obrazy zjawisk społecznych jako na przedmiot badań socjologicznych. Odwołuje się do Goldmannowskiego ujęcia strukturalizmu genetycznego, szczególnie do kierowanej wobec niego krytyki. Korzysta się tu z głosów wybitnych uczonych, którzy wyrażali o nim swoje opinie w okresie największej jego popularności; zaznacza się też aktualną obecność tego podejścia w humanistyce zachodniej. W refleksji nad możliwymi interpretacjami i modyfikacjami metody Goldmanna sięga się, między innymi, po jedno z opowiadań Jorge Luisa Borgesa, Pierre Menard, autor „Don Kichota”, które potraktowano jako artystyczną ilustrację teorii naukowej.

Osmanlı modernleşmesi 18. yüzyılın başlarında iç ve dış dinamiklerin etkisiyle farklı alanlarda meydana gelen değişimlerin bileşkesi olarak görülebilir. Toplum ve devlet hayalının geleneksel özelliklerinde ve yeni kurumların ortaya çıkışında eğitim etkili bir faktör olmuştur. Tanzimat döneminde hemen her alanın dönüşüm ve değişiminde rol oynayan eğitim, laik ve pozitivist bir içerikteydi ama ikili bir yapı söz konusuydu. Bu durum toplumda değer çahşmalan ortaya çıkardı. Eğitim yoluyla modernleşme il. Abdülhamid döneminde daha düzenli ve yaygın hale geldi. Yaygınlaşan modem eğitim toplum, devlet ve iktidar algısını değiştirdi. Bu dönemde eğitimin muhafazakar ve değişimci ruhunun tezahürleri en yüksek dü­zeyde kendini gösterdi. Bu tezat gelişim Abdülhamid devrinin ve Osmanlı devle­tinin sonunu getirdi, modem Türkiye'nin yolunu açtı. Bu yazıda Osmanlı mo­dernleşmesine eğitimin etkisine ve il. In this archaeometric research potsherds from Kavuşan Höyük (a mound located in the upper Tigris valley) representing the Metallic Ware, a diagnostic ceramic group mostly found in north Mesopotamia was characterized using spectroscopic and microscopic techniques in order to differ the imitated ones, if exist, to reveal the production technologies and compare the results with the previous archaeometric works concerning Metallic Ware. For this purpose, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy, polarized energy dispersive X‐ray fluorescence, X‐ray diffraction, and micro‐Raman spectroscopy were used. Two groups were specified as the calcareous “imitations” and the dominant noncalcareous ware as the real ones. The results suggested that the noncalcareous ware of Kavuşan was presumably not produced with the possible clay deposits mentioned in previous studies, which focused on the provenance investigation of a wide range of Metallic War...

Las diversas técnicas de reconstitución del Símbolo, en Occidente, consisten en el desciframiento sistemático de los signos de un logos originario que debe ser restaurado, dentro de la acción reconstructiva de los dispositivos procedimentales de una dialéctica metodológica, donde la dispersión mundana de las diferentes partes que conforman el código de la creación son reconciliadas mediante una philia, al propio tiempo que se armoniza el resarcimiento de la totalidad orgánica por la intervención de una sophía, en la lógica rectora de un intelecto provisto de la disposición para reconocer los sentidos de significación de la Unidad trascendental que organiza la existencia, producto de su correspondencia trascendental con la Inteligencia del Demiurgo.

In this book, in order to learn about the history of
Azerbaijani literature from the beginning of history to the
present, we will take a brief look at this topic and examine
its salient points. For those who are interested in the
history of Azerbaijan literature in all parts of the world
and those who are not familiar with this topic, I have tried
to present this short summary to have the minimum
information about this issue and I have tried to deal with it
very briefly and from Hundreds and thousands of poets
and writers, let me mention only those who have been
influential during many centuries. Our goal in this small
book is to get acquainted with at least the most prominent
figures in the history of Azerbaijani literature, in other
words, it is an abstract of the history of Azerbaijani
literature for those who want it to be useful in the little
time they have for this matter. I hope I have satisfied my
dear readers.
