The article focuses on the representation of Terezín (Theresienstadt) concentration camp in contemporary Czech literary, historical, and educational sources. We should treat the ways of presenting Terezín in Czech public space as a beginning of the discussion about the popular, mass need for “adapting” memory about past experiences to the abilities of a new recipient. The basis for the following considerations is the 2009 novel by Jáchym Topol, The Devil’s Workshop (original title: Chladnou zemí), that presents the process of the revitalization of Terezín concentration camp, which seems to be another stage of a theatricalization or reconstruction of memory. The fundamental question is: How far is it from the Topol’s utopian vision to the actual reality, full of commercialized or institutionalized memory?

Geoarchaeological investigations at Borgring, a recently identified Danish Viking Age ring fortress, reconstructs the original landscape showing how the site was expanded and modified to accommodate a structure of pre-defined size and how this large-scale project demonstrates the willingness to invest significant resources in its precise positioning. The investigations also assess the possibility of navigating along the nearby stream from the coast and show that access by anything larger than a dinghy was impossible, hence navigability was not important for the location and function of the fortress. This has implications for the functional interpretation of all Danish Viking Age ring fortresses.

During excavations of the Viking-age ring fortress Borgring, Denmark, traces of a devastating fire was uncovered. The National Forensic Services of the Danish Police were invited to participate in a novel collaboration, applying contemporary forensic fire investigation to an archaeological site. This paper presents the results and sets a benchmark for future applications. The investigation leads to a revised reconstruction of the fortress and the development of the fire. The application of fire investigation methods, following the Daubert standard criteria, enhance the documentation and analysis of archaeological sites, while archaeological methods show significant potential at modern fire scenes.

In 2014, Borgring, near Køge, Denmark, was identified as the fifth geometrical Viking Age ring fortress in Denmark, complementing an exclusive group of monuments including Trelleborg. Excavations and surveys in 2016–18 allow a detailed reconstruction of the site and its history. Borgring is a fortification with the same geometry, construction, and location as other Trelleborg-type fortresses, though exhibiting notable differences. Finds, including beads, ornaments, and iron tools, reflect activities and links to other fortress sites. The dating of Borgring is established with reference to wiggle-matched 14C dates.

Modern Hadīṡ experts are still very minimal, even there are still many muḥaddiṡ figures who are not yet known by the public. Beras kencur drink is an Indonesia’s traditional beverage containing several antioxidant compounds that are good for human health. Thermosonication technology was chosen to process the beras kencur drink. This research aimed to evaluate antioxidant activity and the color of beras kencur drink thermosonication with compared to the control untreated and pasteurization treatment. The thermosonication treatment used a probe at a frequency of 22 kHz, while conventional pasteurization conditions were 100oC for 2 min. This study employed a Completely randomised design (CRD) with two factorials; temperatures of thermosonication (30, 45 and 60 oC) and times of thermosonication (5, 10, 15 min). The data were analyzed by ANOVA followed by DMRT with p-value greater than 0.05. Henri Nathansen's Family In June 1944, author Henri Nathansen committed suicide while living as a refugee in Lund. He was a fine Danish author whose national play Inside the Walls is the most frequently performed at the Royal Danish Theatre. He also wrote a number of fine novels about Jews caught between the traditional Jewish world and modern-day challenges. His own family’s provincial life formed the background of several of his novels. Although his body of works calls for one, no biography exists of Henri Nathansen. This article describes Henri Nathansen’s family background from Randers, Denmark. The Jewish congregation in Randers held a strong position in the 19th century, and was, by the middle of the century, the largest outside Copenhagen. This article is the second part of a review of the Business Information Review (BIR) Annual Survey, which has been published annually since 1991. The article explores changes to the professional context for information work revealed by the surveys over the course of its publication. It uses a combination of content and thematic analysis to develop key themes, which are discussed by reference to the original surveys: the decline of public library business services, changing budgets, globalization of business information, offshoring and outsourcing of information work, rising up the value chain, changing skills in information work, reliability and accuracy of information and rising up the value chain. Introduction: Mental health is an essential component of overall health that is affected by various environmental factors. Research suggests the inclusion of green space and nature settings in built environments is beneficial for mental health, particularly for vulnerable populations such as military Veterans. Inequities exist for certain populations in relation to accessing a high quality and quantity of green space. Methods: This conceptual review offers a broad assessment of peer-reviewed literature examining links between green space and mental health. Results: Many studies have highlighted associations between exposure to green space and the mental health of vulnerable populations, such as Veterans and individuals of relatively low socio-economic status (SES).
